I’m just your average San Francisco Catholic anarchist social worker that’s fighting for economic & social justice… particularly around the issue of homelessness and poverty. I’m just throwing my pebble into the pond to spread some love.
I’m not a blogger, although I do tend to write some longwinded posts to Facebook. I’ve been asked to write a number of articles lately and figured I might as well post them to a blog… so I can just forward the link to people instead of having to email them the document.
The theme of this blog will generally focus on issues related to homelessness, poverty, marginalized populations, and Catholic type stuff. By default it appears I will be addressing the issue of LGBTQ issues at times, but that’s really not my main focus. My main focus is related to my work as an advocate on homelessness. I’ll throw in some stories of my experiences “On the streets”… to share a bit of what my actual lived experience is on a daily basis here in San Francisco. These subjects can be quite intense at times, but it’s a source of such joy for me.
Oh, as for the Catholic part… not to worry, I’m not a Bible thumper. It’s a long bizarre story, but I actually became Catholic back in 2009. It was never my plan to become Catholic, but here I am and they are now stuck with me. I must admit, I detest most Catholic media and avoid it like the plague… especially the comment boxes! I am a big fan of dialogue and challenging systems of thought (I enjoy my system of thought to be challenged), but I detest the religious fighting I see so often online. Live is hard enough as it is so I have no patience for online drama.
